Creating and sharing event types
Duration, location, buffers, minimum notice, booking window, and custom questions — every setting on an event type and what it changes for your invitees.
An event type is one bookable thing: a 30-minute intro call, a 15-minute check-in, a 90-minute workshop. Each one has its own URL, its own duration, and its own rules about how far ahead and how soon it can be booked. You can have as many as you like on every plan, including the free one.
Creating one
- Go to Scheduling → Event Types and add an event type.
- Give it a title. The URL slug is derived from it — "Intro call" becomes /book/<handle>/intro-call.
- Pick a duration and a location, then open scheduling limits if you need to tighten them.
- Save, then use the copy button on the card to grab the link.
If you would rather describe what you want in plain English, Scheduling → Set up with AI drafts event types and hours from a description and shows you a preview of the resulting week before anything is saved.
Every setting, and what it changes
- Duration
- How long the meeting is. Slots are only offered where the whole duration fits inside one of your availability windows — a 60-minute event will not be offered at 16:30 if your day ends at 17:00.
- Location
- Google Meet, Zoom, Phone, or Custom. Only Google Meet is created automatically: when the event type uses it and you have a calendar connected, the confirmed booking gets a real Meet link. For the other options a detail field appears in the editor — you supply the meeting URL, dial-in number, or room yourself, and it is carried into the invite and the confirmation email. There is no Zoom or Teams integration that creates meetings for you yet.
- Minimum notice
- In minutes. The earliest bookable slot is now plus this. Defaults to 240 (4 hours), which is why a brand-new booking page never shows this morning.
- Bookable days ahead
- How far into the future the booking page runs. Defaults to 60 days. Set it to 14 and nothing beyond a fortnight appears, however free you are.
- Buffer before / after
- Padding in minutes that must also be free around the meeting. A 15-minute after-buffer means a slot is only offered if the following 15 minutes are clear too. Both default to 0.
- Custom questions
- Extra fields on the booking form — short text or long text, each optionally required. Answers arrive with the booking and are stored with the question label, so editing a question later does not scramble past answers.
- Active
- The switch on each card. Turning an event type off takes its page down without deleting it or affecting bookings that were already made.
Using your own Zoom or meeting link
Set the location to Zoom and paste your meeting link into the field that appears — a personal Zoom room works well. If the value is an https:// URL, invitees get it as the join button in the confirmation email, it becomes the location on the calendar invite, and the reminder email links to it too. Any other text — a phone number, an address — is shown as plain location text instead. The same link is reused for every booking of that event type; Neos Meet does not create a fresh Zoom meeting per booking.
Slot start times
Start times are offered on a fixed grid rather than at every possible minute, and by default the grid steps by the meeting's own length. A 30-minute meeting with 9:00–17:00 hours offers 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, and so on; a 45-minute meeting offers 9:00, 9:45, 10:30 — back-to-back with no gaps.
Sharing the link
Every event type has its own URL, in the form meet.neos.network/book/<handle>/<slug>. Share the URL of the specific thing you want booked; if you offer several, send whichever link fits the conversation.
- Links never expire and do not need to be regenerated.
- Invitees do not need an account, an app, or a Google login to book.
- Booking pages carry a small "Powered by Neos Meet" mark on the free plan. Paid plans remove it — see Billing, plans, and seats.
Editing and deleting
Edits apply to future bookings only; meetings already booked keep the details they were booked with. If you want a page to stop taking bookings, prefer deactivating it to deleting it — deactivating leaves everything already scheduled untouched.
Still stuck?
Email support@neos.network with your booking link and, if there is one, the exact time an invitee tried to book. A real person reads it — there is no bot in front of us.
